I would think he isn't. Hatter did smash his robotic head, but you know, we don't really know all that Carpenter did to him so he may still be alive, he just needs a head. I wish they would do one focusing on Hatter because his story was definitely intriguing and left me wanting to know more about him. His relationship with Mad March and his sledgehammer right hand, it'd be nice to know.
You may know by now but if not, then I will try to explain in 2 logical ways. #1. Everyone in wonderland should know Mad March. He was the Queen's favorite assassin before she sent him to get his head chopped off. (Which as you know if you watched the movie, was brought back to life only with the help of Carpenter). Since he worked for the Queen as an assassin, she sent him on tasks to track and hunt down targets. Most likey Oysters or betrayers of the Queen. News would get out; everyone would hear.
#2. Like I said, March ran with the Queen, who runs the casino used for draining Oyster's emotions. Those emotions can be sold at the Tea Shop which is run by Hatter. It all gets connected. He runs a Tea Shop that is in close contact with the Casino, Casino is in close contact with the Queen, the queen is in close contact with March, you get the idea.
I feel quite stupid. Too stupid really. I was over thinking what I was saying. Only about an hour later the real reason came into my head. They were like best friends. The doormouse, Hatter, and the march hare all had tea parties. I apologize for the lack of intelligence I just desplayed.
But how much do you want to bet this is probably wrong too, even though it makes so much sence. Carry on.
In a deleted scene that didn't end up getting in the movie, Hatter explains their relationship. It's that one scene in the woods where he's saying that he's done playing for both sides and he wants to join the resistance; there used to be extra dialogue there saying that his father worked for the Queen and hated it. His brother found his true passion as an assassin for the Queen. He eventually came after Hatter, because he knew Hatter didn't actually work for the Queen, and tried to kill him, but Hatter got him first. So Hatter was the one who made him lose his head, and he's also his brother. ^^
Ohmygosh. You DID do this. I freaked out when I saw this. Fantastic movie, and you captured this really well. I love their postures and expressions. You carry across their emotions and tensions very well. :3
