Ignore the movies. The first games were pretty good but haven't aged so well in my opinion (expecially gameplay-wise: the atmosphere conveyed by minimalist touches is still very strong)... I'd give a try to the first one. ;)

Totes play the games and the movies are okay, also... my favorite one is underworld! But you should start with legend to help you out story wise then move to underworld! <-Best one!

The games are amazing. My favorites Underworld for some reason.. Though the games are so much better than the movies.
